Spotlight Academy | Princess Theatre

Prosser’s Princess Theatre announces its first sessions of children’s theatre for students. Princess Spotlight Academy will begin in April with opportunities for children to perform in Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical JR. These are amazing opportunities for children who are seasoned performers or who are stepping onto the stage for the first time.

Each session will be limited to 25 students and will include two rehearsals a week and three full-scale performances in June with costumes, lights, and sets. Experienced staff will instruct the students. The cost per student is $300, which includes two complimentary tickets to one performance and a T-shirt. We have NO extra fees for costumes, makeup, shoes, etc. We have discounts available for multiple
children in the same household, as well as payment plans and scholarships.

Students will learn and present Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical JR. This play is an adaptation of the Tony Award-winning, hit Broadway musical based on the classic book, customized for young performers! This timeless and courageous tale is the story of a young girl who dreams of a better life while inspiring her classmates to become "revolting children" and teaching the grown-ups a lesson. Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence... and special powers! Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, as seen in the recent film adaptation on Netflix, Matilda JR. is a fantastic show for children to work together to learn how to present their very own play.

Performances will be June 21 and 22 at 7:30 PM and June 23 at 2:30 PM.
