Princess Spotlight Academy offers opportunities for children and teens to perform in stage plays; we welcome students who are seasoned performers or who are stepping onto the stage for the first time.

SWEENEY TODD SCHOOL EDITION

Session begins Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 6–9 PM

Grades 6–12

Rehearsals: Mondays & Wednesdays from 6–9 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM–1 PM

Performances: Thursday, Oct 29 & Friday, Oct 30 at 7:30 PM • Sunday, Nov 1 at 2:30 PM

Audition Requirements:

We are asking everyone to audition with specific excerpts from the following respective songs:

Sweeney Todd - "My Friends" & "Epiphany"
Anthony Hope - "Johanna"
Beggar Woman - "No Place Like London"
Mrs Lovett - "The Worst Pies In London"
Judge Turpin - "Pretty Women"
The Beadle - "Ladies In Their Sensitivities"
Johanna - "Green Finch and Linnet Bird"
Toby - "Pirelli's Miracle Elixir" & "Not While I'm Around"
Pirelli - "The Contest"
Ensemble - "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd"

About: An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth-century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up... and the carnage has only just begun!

Tuition is $200 per student and includes a keepsake script and two free tickets to a performance.

About: Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, the fierce Brave Girls, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of theatre. If the cost of Spotlight Academy presents a financial barrier, we encourage you to complete the scholarship request form below. Princess Theatre provides full and partial scholarships for students in grades 6-8 and volunteer opportunities for students in grades 9-12 to help offset tuition costs. All requests are reviewed confidentially by our Executive Director. Please wait for your scholarship determination before completing registration.
