Princess Theatre Summer on Stage is an exciting, high-energy, full-day theatre experience for students in grades 1–8—and the perfect way to spend the summer in the spotlight! The program offers two separate summer sessions, and each session includes both age groups: grades 1–4 and grades 5–8.

Over three weeks, students dive into the world of musical theatre, learning acting, singing, and dance while working together to bring a beloved show to life. From auditions and rehearsals to choreography, character development, and stage blocking, participants experience the full journey of a real theatrical production–all while enjoying a provided lunch each day to keep them energized and focused.

Led by experienced theatre professionals, each session blends focused rehearsals with themed days, theatre games, and creative activities, all while building confidence, friendships, and teamwork. Each session concludes with live, public performances on the Princess Theatre stage, complete with professional lights, sound, costumes, and sets, so every student gets their moment to shine.

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks Animation film and the hit Broadway musical. It’s a “big, bright, beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on a hilarious and heartfelt adventure to rescue a princess and discover true acceptance.

Part romance and part twisted fairytale, Shrek The Musical is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, Shrek’s quiet life is turned upside down when banished fairytale characters—cast off by the tiny terror with big ambitions, Lord Farquaad—invade his home. Determined to reclaim his swamp, Shrek sets off with a wisecracking Donkey to confront Farquaad, only to be handed an unexpected task: rescue the feisty Princess Fiona. Along the way, Shrek attempts to win Fiona’s heart, outsmart Lord Farquaad, and navigate plenty of surprising twists and turns.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical, a colorful and imaginative musical from Tony Award® winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Bursting with energy, heart, and whimsy, this fantastical adventure celebrates kindness, loyalty, and the power of believing in one another.

Guided by the mischievous Cat in the Hat, audiences journey from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus as Horton the Elephant discovers a tiny world of Whos living on a speck of dust. Determined to protect the Whos—no matter how small—Horton also finds himself responsible for guarding an abandoned egg left behind by the carefree Mayzie La Bird. Along the way, Horton faces doubt, danger, and ridicule, but with the unwavering support of Gertrude McFuzz, he proves that “a person’s a person, no matter how small.”
